New recruits join Garnock Connections team

Following on from our recent funding award from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we have now recruited two new members of staff to join the Garnock Connections team. David Anderson and Lizzy Cairns started in our office on the RSPB Lochwinnoch nature reserve this week.

As Project Officer, David will be working with partners and local communities to ensure delivery of natural heritage projects within Garnock Connections. David has a background in nature conservation focussing on the management of protected areas through roles with RSPB and Whale and Dolphin Conservation. Most recently, David has been working in landscape-scale conservation, including ambitious wetland habitat creation projects with the Inner Forth Landscape Initiative.

Lizzy is our new Finance Officer and will be assisting with the financial administration and reporting of the programme. Having previously worked in the public sector, arts and natural heritage organisations, she brings a strong, supportive skillset to the team.

We are all now looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck into the delivery phase. Keep an eye out for us out and about in the project area over the next few months.
