Free Loan of Recording Equipment

Thanks to generous support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Green Infrastructure Community Engagement Fund and North Ayrshire Council, we have recently purchased a range of wildlife recording equipment, including binoculars, moth traps and bat detectors. And the best part is, people from within the Garnock Connections area can borrow it completely free of charge.

Whether you’ve been along to our wildlife identification workshops and want to develop your new skills, or you have a favourite nature spot and you’d like to see what lives there, let us know and we can provide the gear. We welcome requests from individuals and groups, newcomers and experts alike.

We also have a wide selection of ID books and keys, so you’ll have all the information you need right at your fingertips. The collection includes guides on wildflowers, birds, insects and much more.

Don’t forget that we also have our activity page on iRecord, so you can keep track of all your sightings and upload them onto our online database. Visit brc.ac.uk/irecord for more details.

If you’d like to borrow some of the equipment, or even just have a look at what’s here, get in touch with RSPB Scotland’s Lochwinnoch reserve .
