The Garnock Connections Interpretation project is now underway. Working with specialists at Icecream Architecture we are creating an online heritage archive for the Garnock Connections area. The archive will be somewhere for the local community to share and store their stories about the people and places, past and present, of the area. As well as written stories you’ll be able to upload (and access) images, sound recordings, and even video content to the archive.

When it’s finished, the online archive will link to a new mobile app which will allow you to find new trails to explore and access heritage information when you’re out and about. You’ll also be able to create, upload, and share your own favourite trails to walk and cycle across the project area.

To get things started we’ve created a website, Places That We Know, where you can mark places of interest across the Garnock Connections area. You can also tell us a bit about what it is that makes the places you mark special. We’ll be using the places you add to this map to draw up an initial set of heritage trails which the app will launch with.
