A big thank you to everyone who responded to our call for projects.
We received over 90 project concepts and have been delighted by the amazing and innovative ideas for enhancing, improving access to, and promoting heritage across the Garnock Connections project area they contain.
We’re currently working on a way to bring together all the best aspects of the submitted concepts to build an outstanding programme for Garnock Connections. We’ll be in contact with everyone who submitted a project concept shortly.
As part of the Garnock Connections development year we have commissioned a study of the character of the landscape and the historic environment within the project area. Over the past couple of months the team at MVGLA and Northlight Heritage have undertaken an extensive desk based study of existing data, carried out field surveys of local landscape areas, and hosted discussions at community events across the project area. All their hard work has paid off and they have produced a comprehensive Landscape and Heritage Study of the Garnock Connections Project Area.
Garnock Connections has published a call for tenders to create an Interpretation and Engagement Plan. The plan will provide a strategy for the work of the partnership during the delivery period and inform the development of the interpretation, events, and research projects within the landscape partnership scheme.
